Provincial Nominee Program of Alberta process

Alberta and the Federal Government of Canada run the Alberta Immigration Nominee Program or AINP which is an economic program dedicated to those who are willing to shift to Alberta permanently and looking for PR of the province. There are multiple opportunities and vacancies in the province which the government wants to fill up with these immigrations.

There are different stream under which AINP operates –

• Alberta Opportunity stream – AOS
• Alberta Express Entry Stream
• Self -Employment farmer stream

The candidates can move to Alberta with family as well provided he or she meets all the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria for AINP

• An active profile on express entry pool
• At least 1 year of experience in any job profile which is there in Alberta’s economic development diversification list
• CRS score of minimum 300 points
• Positive intention to live and work in Alberta

Furthermore, if the candidate has the following, it can increase his or her chances –

• Any connection or relative who resides in Alberta
• Alberta’s post-secondary education degree
• Relevant work experience in Alberta or fresh job offer

Eligibility for Alberta’s Express Entry Program

This is a stream under AINP and the eligibility criteria are as follows –

• If your active express entry profile has at least 67 points
• If you are interested in migrating to Alberta permanently and you have shown that interest by submitting the EOI
• A minimum of 300 points on CRS
• If you are into an occupation that helps Alberta’s economy to widen and strengthen
• Your chance of getting the nomination may increase if you have some blood relative living in Alberta – Siblings, Parent, or child
• If you have worked in Alberta before or have a new job offer
• You did your studies in Alberta

In case your express entry profile expires in three months or you submit an application for multiple AINP streams or your occupation is not eligible for AINP, then your chances of getting the nomination decrease significantly.

Note: Expression of Interest doesn’t guarantee your nomination, it is like an application that is accepted by the AINP then you get the nomination.

Application process of Alberta Express Entry Stream

• Firstly, you need to create an express entry profile under the federal skilled worker program
• Select Alberta as the province
• Then you need to wait for the notification for the interest letter. Once you receive the same, fill it up and submit it.
• You need to submit the same within 30 days of receiving the notification.
• You need to submit it will all the required documents
• Then again the candidate have to wait to get the approval on the nomination application and that allows 600 points under the Federal express entry program
• Then the candidate would get an invitation to apply (ITA) for the Canada PR visa in the next Invitation draw of the express entry program
• Once he or she receives the same, it needs to be submitted with all the required documents within 60 days.
