  • Under Canada’s National Occupation Classification (NOC), the candidate needs to have at least one year of experience in any of the skilled occupations, under skill level 0, A, or B.
  • In all four categories of IELTS, you need to score at least 6 per band.
  • Your educational qualification must be at least up to secondary or post-secondary level. You must get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) by an assessing body post-authorization.
  • You have to provide your income details to prove that you can support yourself and any family member in Canada.

Express Entry Points Calculations For Canada PR Visa

6 factors are checked for rewarding the points. They are –

  • Language ability with a maximum of 28 points – 24 points for proficiency in the first language and 4 more points for knowing the second language.
  • Education comes second on the list with a maximum of 25 points. You can get all the 25 points if you have a doctoral degree. While the one having just a secondary education degree can have 5 points.
  • Then there is Work experience for which 15 points are awarded at a max. If you are having more than 6 years of experience then you can get 15 points.
  • Another 12 points are being awarded for the age of the candidate. They can get all 12 points if they are between 18 years to 35 years. However, if above 35 years, then with the increase in age, the points decrease.
  • The next 10 points are awarded when the candidate can have a valid employment offer from a Canadian employer.
  • Finally, there are 10 points for adaptability which depends on your spouse if you are moving to the country together. It depends on your spouse’s qualifications.

What is Canada Express Entry processing time?

IRCC reports that 80% of applications for PR visas submitted by Express Entry are processed within 6 months of their receipt. This is the application submitted once the applicant receives an ITA and prepares their formal application for permanent residence.

This processing time does not take into account the time it takes to prepare an Express Entry profile, request, and receive a provincial appointment (if applicable), etc.
