Quebec Immigration In-demand Occupation List 2021

Most of the provinces in Canada have their own provincial nomination program that allows them to nominate the skilled and capable immigrants for permanent residence visa in the province. These PNPs have different requirements and eligibility criteria depending on the local labor market demands of the province. But Quebec does not have Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) for inviting the skilled immigrants.

For immigrating to the province of Quebec there is no stream that requires candidates to have occupation in-demand in the province. The only way for a skilled immigrant to move to the province of Quebec is via the – Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP).

 Quebec province has their own immigration program that allows them to invite the potential immigrants that can help in the development of the province via the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) enables highly educated and trained foreign nationals to move to the province of Quebec as skilled workers.

In order to be qualified under QSWP as a Quebec-selected skilled worker, a single applicant must score at least 50 points in Quebec point’s calculator. If the immigrant is moving with their spouse or common-law partner they need to score at least 59 points.

  • Characteristics of Spouse/Common-law partner (Maximum 17 points)
  • Validated Job-offer (Maximum 10 points)
  • Accompanying Children (Maximum 8 points)
  • Financial Self-Sufficiency (Maximum 1 point)

Process to Apply for permanent residence in Quebec Province in 2021

There are two steps to apply for permanent residence in Quebec province:

Step 1: First step for the candidates applying for PR in Quebec is to get the Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ). This certificate signifies that the candidate is able to meet all the requirements and eligibility criteria of the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) and Quebec province has selected the candidate to settle permanently in the province.

Step 2: Once the candidate is able to land the CSQ certificate, they are able to apply for permanent residence visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Candidates have to submit their application with CSQ certificate.
